The youngsters of Build on a Rock see it as their duty to look after those who are less privileged in this world. Nobody decides where they are born and Build on a Rock wants to help these people by setting up and supporting small scale projects.

The foundation of Build on a Rock is solely made up of volunteers and was founded by youngsters from the surrounding areas of Rotterdam. In 2003 a few of these youngsters worked on the ‘Venda Project’ of the Koningskerk in Rotterdam.  

Geïnspireerd door dit project zijn de jongeren op zoek gegaan naar een nieuw project. Samen hebben zij Stichting Build on a Rock opgericht. De organisatie is vervolgens uitgegroeid tot ongeveer 25 vrijwilligers.

Stichting Build on a Rock is vernoemd naar de vaste Rots waar de organisatie op bouwt, Jezus Christus. Vanwege Zijn liefde voor ons allen willen wij de minder bevoorrechte mensen helpen bouwen aan een hoopvolle toekomst.

Inspired by the project, the volunteers went searching for a new project. Together they started the Build on a Rock foundation. The organisation has grown to about 25 volunteers.

Foundation Build on a Rock was named after the solid Rock on which the organisation builds which is Jesus Christ. Because of His love we want to help less privileged people to build to a better future.
